monk notification feature ...

... seemes very helpful to me, if one ever existed.

Currently after I asked a question, then I should visit that node sometimes to make sure someone answered, mostly to ensure nothing new appeared there.

Is this hard to do notification mechanism when something appeared after user's node? This will greatly save monk's time, which can be used for meditations, for example.

With wishes of luck and peace,
Vadim.

This feature already exists - In User Settings, look for and enable the option - "/msg me when there's a reply to one of my posts"

Yes that already exists (as mentioned).

It'd be useful to expand the scope of this a bit in order to have an ability for a monk to toggle on/off a thread so he could be notified about new posts to threads he didn't originate.

For instance, at any given time I'm trying to follow several threads and often it's cumbersome to manually check each one. Much simpler to get a /msg

Does this appeal to anyone else?

Aside from watching full threads, it would also be nice to have an independent option, probably tied to the existing /msg me... setting, which informs you of any new descendants of your nodes. The existing option appears to only send a /msg for replies, but not replies to replies (to replies, etc.).
this certainly appeals to me. i currently manage by keeping a list of threads i'm watching in my personal nodelet and favorite threads on my scratchpad, but it would be nice to know when a thread's been updated.
