I note that on merlyn's web site he refers to Programming Perl as a book "I helped write which no longer acknowledge me as a contributor because of company politics". When an edition of a book with new authors comes out the common practice in publishing is to include all the past contributors names in the credits no matter how much the content has changed. The 2nd edition of Programming Perl is a classic. O'Reilly does Mr. Schwartz a real disservice by erasing attribution of his contributions to this work.

p.s. Accidentally typed O'Really into google getting the links for this post and got a rather bizarre result. People have WAY to much time on their hands.
