I don't know if the ideas has ever been passed around, but why not have a Perlmonks T-shirt to help pay for a dedicated server? Maybe put Perlmonks.org on the front, along with the person's Perlmonk name, and their real name, and on the back have a cool perlmonks logo along with a nifty perlmonks slogan below that.
