Hmmm. Could a bit of code that was probably going to be put in last and was forgotten?

I would just tell the coder that the information you wanted is not being saved. Could he fix it as soon as possible? Perhaps send an email, though in your situation, I would save the draft, do a couple other tasks, and then read what you wrote before sending it.
