Also, he is concerned that we are using a technology unsupported by Sun. I wouldn't say that it isn't supported. Solaris 8 has Perl 5.005_03 as standard and Solaris 9 has Perl 5.6.1. Also, the Solaris 8 kstat(1) utility is written in Perl.
