Yes, but to keep it inidividually competitive, the watching, imitating and learning (which I highly recommend) must be done after the tournament by reading the post-mortem and discussing the solutions here or on Fun with Perl.

    I would still prefer seeing the submissions real-time, and let the one who's smart enough to combine techniques being the "winner". Working together to get the ultimate golf is imho better.

    When the contest is over, of course I will read the golfs, but I don't think I'll enjoy it as much as when I read it while golfing on my own hole. It's like waiting for the other players to complete all 18 holes each before you can watch and it's your turn.

    A discussion of solutions is more effective when done while improvements can still be made.
