While troubleshooting an internet access problem with my
ISP, I figured out that their DNS server must be borked. I
was able to get to exactly one site (out of 20 or so of my
regular haunts) and discovered that it was the only IP/host
pair entry in my Win98 \Windows\hosts file.
In my desperation to get back to PM--and being too impatient/lazy to add a second DNS entry in my network settings--I thought Hell, I'll just add an IP/host pair for PM. The ISP problem was probably just temporary anyhow. That sorta worked and got me a bit farther but of course then I got stuck on adfu.blockstackers.com. Ok, another IP/host pair for that. Then came the "huh?". Now I got stuck on oostendorp.org. Why does every page access to PM require an access to oostendorp.org? I now know more about Rob Oostendorp and his cheatin' girlfriend than I really care to know (there must be a CW hit in there somewhere). Can someone enlighten me? I would've never stumbled onto this if Comcast hadn't had DNS problems. Could one of the PMdev group check into this? Apologies in advance if this turns out to be a D'oh!. --Jim
