Since you've brought up the navigation bar, can we add the Super Search to the top? I use it more than any other link and I think there are many newbie's like myself that should be encouraged to do likewise.

What I would really like to see is the section titles sorted alphabetically. When I look for Snippets my eyes hover between Reviews and Tutorials and it takes me several moments to shift them up to the line above.
Same thing with Obfuscation between Meditation and Perl Monks Discussion, except the other way around. I still haven't become used to the order (or lack of).

I think that it would be better to do three lines, three groups of links and insert the 's. I had the same problem w/ my own website and solved it that way.

The sections are named somewhat arcanely as it is. A newcomer browsing the site (ok, it was me last year and now again as i reacquaint myself) might get confused and assume "Seekers of Perl" is a download zone, with a vague "Wisdom" wrapped on the next line.

(OT) Newest Nodes link in PM navbar
by jlf (Scribe) on Dec 21, 2001 at 23:06 UTC

I hope it's not too offtopic, but it would be great if the "Newest Nodes" link were more bookmark-friendly. For example, right now the link points to http://www.perlmonks.org/index.pl?node_id=3628&lastnode_id=3333 and if I bookmark the link it will still point to that set of nodes when I click it next week. Would it be possible for the navbar link to point a page that redirects to the current newest nodes? | [reply] [d/l] |

If you are getting the same nodes listed after a week, then you have a caching problem, probably in a proxy. Try forcing a refresh. (The link you quoted works fine and will produces the latest newest nodes each time you visit it. If you aren't getting the latest newest nodes then someone is ignoring proper caching and serving you an old copy.)

You can also add it in your personal nodelet.
