Empty nodes and other irritations

I've just noticed that an anonymous monk seems to have created a whole load of empty nodes. I know it can be easy to create an empty node but they are quite annoying. As an empty node contains no information shouldn't there be a simple filter to prevent them from being generated? eg. if the body of the post is empty then reject the post and return error message.
Also another/the same(?) AM has created a load of what appear to be useless nodes in every category (code/snippets/discussion etc). This leads me to ask, and I'm sure I'm not the first, if this sort of thing happens should AMs be allowed to post?

Replies are listed 'Best First'.

I noticed the same problem, but I admit that the first time I posted something on perlmonks I created some empty nodes too: I never understood how that happened. Anyway I'm almost sure there is a way to recognize empty nodes, so why not writing a nice perl script which may run daily and delete all these useless nodes? In this way everybody is still allowed to post, but if someone post empty nodes - either for mistake or on purpose :( - these are soon removed.

Yes, they should be allowed to post, but perhaps their posts should not appear until they are approved by a moderator somehow. On a similar note, I notice that a lot of AM create empty nodes with a title of "A HREF="/index.pl?node_id=XXX" etc. Is this a bug, perhaps? Were they really trying to post something?
