Made this into an XS module, and it's up on CPAN as Algorithm::LUHN_XS. Hopefully I didn't miss any of you in the CREDITS section. It's using one of the slower C implementations because of some unique requirements like handling non-numeric data, but still significantly faster than the original. Thanks again all.
