    The truth is that at that time, there was only the one Perl. A Perl that many agreed on, had issues (at least 361 of them). And many people in the Perl community liked the idea of fixing those problems. Of which you were also a part as an early Perl 6 enthusiast. I don't think anybody needed to be tricked at the time. And that's the truth. Why fear that?
