yaklichk0719 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Can somebody please recommend a source of Perl 5.8 or 5.10 to install on CentOS 6.6 apart from the command: yum install Perl? I know that it is OS pre-installed but I need a second version of Perl. Thank you, Sergey

Here you can find the links to almost all releases of Perl in their source code form.

If it has to be Perl 5.10, then I recommend the latest, 5.10.1, but there is very little reason to compile your own 5.10 as there have been very few changes that break backwards compatibility since.

Just build it from source. Perl 5.10.1. Follow the instructions in INSTALL. Create your target directory and follow the instructions linked to using the prefix method.

If you're needing multiple versions of Perl, you might find perlbrew to be useful.
