    And if the data in question comes from Hollerith cards, as they only used to do, consider keeping your cards sorted and grouped by column count and letting a CDC peripheral do the walking for you.

      Thankfully, the only place I've ever seen a punch card is at the Computer History Museum IBM 1401 Demo Lab :).

      The input data here is not XML or JSON based, just Perl hashes.
