Not sure what you mean, the problematic American role in Versailles was that they didn't play a role! The German Empire asked for an armistice based on the Wilson plan only to find out that the US government had no say, except stupidly sending millions of fresh soldiers around. One of the ironies of this story is that actually the same Germans "liberated" Poland, Ukraine and the Baltics by defeating Russia in 1917 ...
