in reply to Setting up Perl/CGI with Windows

Hi Ovid, Many thanks for this clear tutorial! i've beeen thinking about setting up a webserver for a while but couldn't find a clear tutorial. I had to look a bit for the Apache for windows download, but found it here: http://archive.apache.org/dist/httpd/binaries/win32/ Where I downloaded "apache_1.3.24-win32-x86-src.msi" After running the "Apache.exe" in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Group\Apache", everything worked (I'm running Windows 7, x86) Many thanks again!

Do you have a reason for using such an old version of Apache (from 2002), instead of a newer one?
XAMPP currently has Apache 2.4.29 and Perl 5.16.3

Replacing XAMPP's Perl with a newer one (whether Strawberry or ActivePerl) should be straightforward.
