Hi, photoshop finds PDL::IO::Image which says it supports reading photoshop files ... not sure what kind of editing it supports, maybe you can find out I do know Gimp supports editing psd files and there is a perl module to interface to it called Gimp it comes with examples that mention layers https://metacpan.org/pod/release/ETJ/Gimp-2.32/examples/example-fu/source
