in reply to What is a troll?

troll is someone who spreads fear, has no character to resist impulses, does not vote on evaluation of content, uses bias to marginalize others ideas instead of defeating them through reflection using logic, not ignore, this is bad way to defeat. There are many demagogues in the world that teach stupid ideas, people embrace them because they are scared, have little hope.

Your troll description is too specific; other intentions as well as other moods, deviations, personal disorders and/or strategies of gratification for one's self may be present. So I'll stick with the canonical definition.

The members of this Monastery are spread throughout the world; joining the US Military is not an option for many of us. And I for sure would never choose the US Military as the institution to learn something about anything.

This site is about a programming language. It isn't about the use of this language for good or bad (according to one's own view of goodness or badness). It isn't about interaction, strife or cuddling with the people involved here, it isn't a "social network site", although it is possible to communicate in a more intimate way via private messages.

Oh, the XP issue? Just don't care, brother. The rules are clear, and they won't change any time soon. Pretend to be welcome, and you will be welcome.

Man kann nur ausbilden was man sich einbildet. - sorry, can't translate that one proper, but roughly: you can only develop what you imagine.

So, if this XP game is rigged and foul-playing on you, that's how it goes. For you.

perl -le'print map{pack c,($-++?1:13)+ord}split//,ESEL'
