What is the plural of Bluetooth?

    • Bluetooths
    • Bluestooth
    • Blueteeth
    • @bluetooth
    • Bluetooth is an adjective; pluralize the noun

        Bluestooth?

I went to the dentist in the mornin',
        He nodded as he spoke,
I said, "I hope doc that it ain't too bad",
'cus that's not the only thing that's broke.

I got the blues... teeth. Oh yeah, the blues... teeth.

      Too late, mate, it's sixteen.

    My preferred regex delimiter is:

    • ~ (tilde)
    • # (hash)
    • | (pipe)
    • {} (braces)
    • - (hyphen)
    • . (dot) for obfuscation
    • $ (dollar) because there aren't enough uses for $ in a regex already
    • / (slash) since there's no need to change from the default
    • Other (please specify below)

(Thanks GrandFather for the seed of the idea)

I sometimes use = and %, as they are visually distinct. I've seen comma used a lot in code. Under utf8, you can even
      "aa" =~ m║a+║;

      • Yes, but tagged with [Perl6]

As serious thing, adding a (mandatory?) foreword where explain that this is Perl6 content, possibly witha a link to a PM tutorial explaining it in details. IIRC raiph is used to do something similar in his Perl6 posts.

    • A ticket
    • A toy
    • A subscription
    • Being the designated driver
    • Spending time with a celebrity

You know, i've always picked up one of those (and read them) if they're just there. But, i've never actually bought one.

Anyway, added. But more generically, as subscription.

      • A dinner with a celebrity.

Good one, i've heard of those. Added, though a bit more generically.

1 year of Tintin magazine (via a television phone game when I was 12 years old) :D

Another story: at the office we won tickets for events via a asp web site I created on our intranet. In fact, I informed everybody of the team that my application will be available in production and they can participate. The url was not yet sent to the people of the company so we were the first and legally won the tickets because the quickest win them. The client saw it and ask us to remove our records from the database! So we won but never got the tickets XD

    • I am in the mood
    • I am proofreading
    • The usage seems wrong
    • I don't know what it means
    • I am not sure what it means
    • I'm not positive what it means
    • I am afraid i used it incorrectly
    • Someone challenges my use of it
    • Context might change its meaning
    • I want to see how it is pronounced
    • It confuses what the sentence means
    • I happen to have a dictionary nearby
    • I want to know the word's etymology
    • The dictionary plugin/app is working
    • I want to see it contrasted to other words
    • Never. I can (almost) always tell from context
    • If i don't know what it means, it must not be important

... I want to know the etymology

      Regards,

      John Davies

        > ... I want to know the etymology

        Etymology

From Middle English etimologie, from Old French ethimologie, from Latin etymologia, from Ancient Greek ἐτυμολογία ‎(etumología), from ἔτυμον ‎(étumon,“true sense”) and -λογία ‎(-logía, “study of”) (from λόγος ‎(lógos, “word; explanation”)).

I can't believe i missed that. And i do check for that too. Added.

When someone tells me I really should look it up.

More subtly: When someone tells me it was a very cromulent word that I used.

(BTW, I find that programmers love wordplay, which perplexes, even vexes, self-proclaimed "writers".)

Nice one. Added as "Someone challenges my use of a it".

I have sent it off in a text/msg/email and then am struck with worry that I don't know the exact meaning of the word.

struck with worry that I don't know the exact meaning

I believe that is included in "I am not positive what it means".

    • Some
    • Few
    • None

I'm hoping that some of the people who answer “lots” will share interesting stories about what sorts of objects are displayed.

As an alternative, you could ask about both home and workplace.

    • Head tax : $tax = $FEE;

    Generic singular pronoun:

    • He
    • She
    • They
    • S/he
    • "He or she"
    • He and she (alternating)
    • Same as the author's gender
    • It
    • User
    • $user
    • It depends
    • Just avoid pronouns
    • Other
      • $_

      • their

I kept thinking about putting their there. But, google defines their as a "determiner," not a pronoun (as it does for they).

Now that it's after Memorial Day, i:

    • Graduate
    • Wear white
    • Go swimming
    • Wish i had summer off
    • Do nothing
    • What's Memorial day?
      • Huh? Memorial day? What is Memorial day?

Or does that rank under nothing.

      Enjoy, Have FUN! H.Merijn

        Huh? Memorial day?

Okay, that's a good way to put it. I had a longer option in mind, which i ended up not liking. :)

    How old is the earth?

    [] 4,543 × 10^9 years [] 10,000 years [] 8.64 billion years [] 6000 years [] 10,000 years [] other (how many?) [] I don't know [] It doesn't matter [] Why do you ask?

«The Crux of the Biscuit is the Apostrophe»

      1.46 * 10^9 seconds

For most of the answers, a tilde or "approximately" is required. :)
