I am afraid I can't help you here. My Perl IDE is VIM and the command line. I poked a bit at NetBeans (back when it was still a Sun Micro product) when I was looking for a Java IDE. I gave it up when I gave up on Java, some ten years ago. You might consider the principal of 'the right tool for the right job', and use different development methodologies for different languages. Just a thought. (Or, consider how you might try to cram Lisp or COBOL into the procrustean bed of your IDE....)
