Whith links outside Perlmonks, I see no problem here, but in the case of intra-Perlmonks links, it is actually better to use the [id://… variant. Some monks are logged in at https://perlmonks.org/, some at https://www.perlmonks.org/, some at https://perlmonks.com/, https://www.perlmonks.com/, https://perlmonks.net/ or https://www.perlmonks.net/, but more often than not, at a different variant than you, so they aren't logged in for those pages.

There are occasional times when I don't use the ID - usually because I want to supply some different link text.
In such cases I only link to the path, not the domain, to keep it portable - /index.pl?node_id=3333;parent=11138366

I regularly tell my team that there is a big difference between knowing something and doing it...so, I have used this notation and no doubt I'll do it again 😊

        Exactly like that...
