I mean using kdiff3 as a file editor to edit the files being compared.

I think that's what you meant by "I can edit the opened files".

It has been a long time since I tried it kdiff3.

    I just checked, I can edit the merge of 2 files.

    If you mean editing the 2 or 3 files compared, I'd rather do this inside emacs with ediff
