It is one thing to build a new system of databases and then take that live, while turning off the old system. It is quite another to migrate components of an architecture bit by bit. What I am suggesting is not easy or simple, however the task at hand is not that simple either. There are a lot of things that can go wrong if you are just updating components of a database architecture (with a live system). |It is no small task. I could do, but well beyond perlmonks help forum. It would have to be a paid job and so my advice is maybe not that good. I would be interested though if others agree with me on the idea in principle. | [reply] |

Let's throw him a rope
Seems pretty hypocritical, coming from someone who has never successfully thrown anyone (here) a rope, despite years of trying. Please go away, mike. Dump your shit in someone else's sandbox for a while.
