Hi monks, I would like to create a group of security practitioner only for developing some project related to perl security tools in our free time :) everyone who want to learn is welcome. the main subjects will be:
- Penetration test - Reverse engineering - Cryptanalysis and Cryptography - EMsec and other Side channel attacks and countermeasures - firmware modding and other similar things. - wireless security testing
Everything will be "ethical" and it will possible to write some articles also for perl.com ( related to security ). It would also be possible to create some libraries and post on CPAN together. for more information send me a message in private. Thanks. Edoardo M.

Penetration Testing with Perl in your bookshelf? An immediately useful thing would be a curated list of Perl based tools that do security related things and stuff. For personal edificiation, that is.
Hi, NO, I think that the "penetration testing with perl" book is completely bad written and with a lot of errors (both code and explanations are wrong some times ), think that I started studying the network security using that book, after I've decided to study from Tanenbaum's book "Computer Networks" and this gave me the main idea about network protocols and networking, which is better than having a knoweledge about the ""hacking a WEP network"". I am making a library repository about reverse engineering, wireless penetration test ( I am rewriting Lorcon2 ) and web penetration testing, my general idea would be more similar to a CTF group without the CTFs :) Regards Edoardo M
Very good. I am not a security person, but I wish you luck. I am interested in seeing whatever you come up with.
