If we think of PerlMonks “mostly as a reference database,” as it is, then it is inescapable that most of the content ... a vast amount of it, by now ... is in English.   While it is possible to, say, “skin” the site templates with a choice of translations, that still would do nothing for the content.   (Content of this sort does not lend itself well to machine-translation.)   Even though people do come here from all around the planet, there is only one “language of conversation,” and virtually the entire database contains posts in just one human language.   The content can’t be “adapted.”   So, you have to “adapt.”   No disrespect here ... just pragmatism.

And yes, this site does support user-ratings that can be +1 or -1, and it only presents you with the arithmetic sum.   Don’t take such things personally.   (For the most part, don’t take ’em at all.)   Here is one of the very-best resources on the Perl language ... in the English language.   Use it as an information resource, and as a very fast source of peer-review by truly competent people.   Just make the best of it as it is.
