API for email configuration within an application

hotpelmen has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi, Does anyone know of a complete solution/API written in Perl for configuring subjects/message templates/receipents etc. for different events so various scripts (web and command-line) could get it all from DB? "Complete", meaning that it also includes a web interface for configuring it all through the browser. You'd think some generic solution should be published somewhere by now. so people do not have to write it over and over again. If anyone know of the top of your head, please respond. I'd rather use a ready solution instead of writing my own. I looked in sourceforge and CPAN but did not find anything suitable. Thank you.

Many options i'm sure. If you're willing to part with a few bucks, this one looks very comprehensive.. Dada Mail.

        Majordomo...

I have used that piece of software about or almost 20 years ago, I did not even remember about it until I saw you mentioning it here. I did not know (or at least did not remember at all) it was written in Perl. Well, at the time, I am not really sure I even knew what Perl was (or maybe I had heard the name and vaguely knew it was an obscure scripting language, but certainly not more than that). I guess it worked probably because Perl was pre-installed on my Slackware Linux distribution of the time. I had no idea that this thing still existed.

Loops, mr mischief, Thank you for the info.
