in reply to Message Inbox bug?

I can't say for certain if the original author intended that behavior or not. However, I agree with you that it is unfortunate. Also, I certainly see in the code how it could have been an accident.

I think it will be easy to fix. I almost made the fix right now but then I decided it might be good to give a bit of time in case you and I are in the distinct minority and somehow a raft of people are relying upon the current behavior.

Though, my expectation is that I will end up fixing this, in part because I would also like to get back to my original vision of the feature where the default for the "Move ... to" drop-down is "(Un)archive". That way, you can simply select the check box on any subset of your messages and then the "Move" button will archive the ones you selected, unless they were already archived in which case it would unarchive them (moving them back into the main folder). No need to select which operation you want to do nor to do the archiving and unarchiving in two separate passes.

    Thanks for that, tye.

I'm surprised no one else has reported this previously, since I expect the faciltiy is used often, and it's been around for many years.

Your "(Un)archive" default suggestion sounds reasonable to me...without having thought about it too hard.

PS: I note you have appended the title of your reply post with "(probably)". That was the meaning I intended when I ended the original title with a "?".

    Thanks.
