    Hi Fingo, hi all,

    I have just extracted the intelligence out of Fingo's link
    to have a script, which expects an url and gives the babelfish
    link for the translation.
    #!/usr/local/bin/perl -w use URI; use strict; sub usage { print <<EOF; usage: $0 <url> <translatemodus> e.g. : $0 http://www.where_ever.arg/index.html en_de EOF exit; } my $url=$ARGV[0]; my $tl =$ARGV[1]; $tl="en_de" if not $tl; usage if not $url; my $u1 = URI->new("$url", "html"); my $base=$u1->authority; my @parts=$u1->path_segments; my $target ="http://babelfish.altavista.com/urltrurl?url=http%3A%2F%2 +F"; $target .=$base; foreach (@parts) { $target .= "%2F$_" if $_; } $target .="&lp=$tl&tt=url&urltext=&doit=done"; print "$target\n";

    just a quick hack, I don't know if I ever use this, but maybe
    there are some folks who appreciate this.
