Good date-handling functions/modules?

Legg83 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Could someone point me in the direction of some good date functions/modules.

    Look at the Date search on CPAN, especially Date::Calc and Date::Manip...

    also look at localtime

    if you are just looking for a method of adding date/day/month info to your script, check out localtime and time.
