If Perl upgrade JComboBox alternative is any indication, I see no compelling reason to rewrite your GUI :) But that's just me

The thing you try to --show is the title  wxperl_demo --show "Icon and Text" because Wx::DemoModules::wxListCtrl has  sub title { 'Icon and Text' } -- usually the title matches the classname (wxListCtrl) but there are oddballs

update: and its a known issue Bug #66014 for Wx-Demo: Document wxperl_demo.pl in Wx::DemoModules POD
