bingos/AM: please review this session: I tried to update (x) and it issued an error:

I tried to update (x) and it issued an error:

You forgot to download a new CPANPLUS first like bingos showed

You could even  cpan CPANPLUS if your cpan is in working order

Thank you, AM. I'll try downloading it in a couple of hours, and report back.

In the meantime, I followed your suggestion, and got this:

E:\>cpan cpanplus CPAN: CPAN::SQLite loaded ok (v0.202) Database was generated on Sat, 27 Apr 2013 19:45:20 GMT Warning: Cannot install cpanplus, don't know what it is. Try the command i /cpanplus/ to find objects with matching identifiers.

      Many TIA - Helen

        cpan -fi BINGOS/CPANPLUS-0.9136.tar.gz

Had you tried the suggested command you'd probably have found the answer. Case counts when installing or calling modules within your code:

        cpan CPANPLUS

Forcing it to install is unwise as you may not be made aware of any problems. As I've advised before you need to actually read the output of such tools and do what they tell you. Ignoring such things has cause you many problems in the past when installing modules.
