Donation page (almost) out of date

The Offering Plate refers to an apparently deprecated donation site. Still seems to be active but should perhaps update the link in "Click here to donate" to the new donation system.

But the new donation system has no specific offering plate for the Monastery!

    Clearly a bug!

The new system also seems to lack option for anonymity.

[This was intended as a reply to CountZero but not worth the bother to reparent]

I think the Offering Plate link should be removed altogether. Of the little I know, it seems whatever money has been donated isn't being used and no plans have been made that would require additional funds. The hosting is already donated. As someone who gave a few years ago before knowing any of this, I think removing is only fair.

If a circumstance should arise requiring funds, then it can always be included again or a specific call made within PerlMonks Discussions.

"...the adversities born of well-placed thoughts should be considered mercies rather than misfortunes." — Don Quixote

Understand the feeling and if I'd actually been a bit more generous (my donations are basically trivial) I might agree more. Throwing money into a (reportedly) unused account is of course foolish but having a little extra money in the coffer might make it a bit easier to do something if/when the need should arise.

Not that I have much of anything to say about it but I think the donation page should stay. One compromise could be to clarify that no fund raisers are currently running ... but that could simply be inferred by the lack of any being listed.
