Perl Monks, to me, is an almost perfect model of how members of a certain community can help each other.

Are there other sites that opperate like Perl Monks for other things like Linux, Sys Admining, etc?

  • There is no other site than PerlMonks,
  • No other language than Perl,
  • No life beyond [c|n]oding.

Myself and a small consortium of other users (you can get more details on my home node) are currently working on a monk-like site for Java. We're making progress and will probably give an update with more information soon.

As far as other monk sites go, I've heard there's some interest of doing a C++ site and some others possibly working on a Math site. For more details you'll have to talk to the ppl actually running those, I don't quite remember who they were.
