No surprise that it doesn't work with Stoneage-Perl ;-) I would try it with Perl 5.12 or 5.14. At least the compatibility page suggests that it should run quite well there: http://deps.cpantesters.org/?module=Inline%3A%3APython&perl=5.12&os=any+OS
