I have to agree with the general consensus that it doesn't really matter what your co-workers think is cool. Telling them that Perl is good will not make them believe it. 1) You should probably just carry on with your work and do something cool with Perl. Then you can have the joy of showing off why Perl was tool to use for the given problem. 2) Just because somebody doesn't jump head first into something like Perl Monks does not mean they have no interest. Some people will just use these forums to learn what they need to know before moving on.
