Win A Dream Date With Vroom!

by gregor42 (Parson)
on Aug 01, 2001 at 23:03 UTC ( [id://101481]=monkdiscuss: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

As per this node our illustrious Master, Vroom will be in New York City for training from August 16th - 17th. He would like to meet with his disciples!

I am making the dinner arrangements. The reservations need to be made ASAP. (This is New York after all...)

SO, please /msg me or email me with YOUR OWN PREFERENCE in food GENRE, and PRICE RANGE. If you're familiar with NYC & would like to suggest a specific place I'll be happy to consider it & attempt to get us in.

I'm trying to make this node as high profile as possible so that no one is left out. I need responses within the next 24 hours if at all humanly possible.

I'll be there regardless since I have nothing better to do in NYC. I'm gonna be located in the block betweeen 46th and 5th so the closer to there the better. Also my tendency for price range would be $30 or less unless of course I am actually on a hot date in which case I'll spend significantly more. If we figure something out a week or so in advance I think we would probably be OK.

Why do reservations need to be made now? Unless we are going for something really, really expensive, a few hours notice is generally sufficient. Even for a party of a dozen(which is more than I think we will see).

Personally I dislike Japanese food but I am open for anything else. Any price range under $40/person is fine by me. There are plenty good ones in the range of $10-12. I don't want to eat somewhere where they prefer suits. (This is NYC. There are places that care.)

Why do revervations need to be made now? ...

So far I have 9 respondants, whom may bring guests. That's well over a dozen. I should think we'd like to be seated in a similar area, no?

My wife has rented a car for the occasion.

Personally, I LIKE going to expensive places, but I'm not dragging anyone kicking & screaming, and I'm not going to exclude anyone if I can help it. And I wouldn't go imposing a dress code on people either. Except maybe robes!

I need to know how much Trappist Ale to import. :)

And frankly, I just like to be on top of things. I'm looking forward to meeting many of you in meatspace & I'd like it to be a memorable occasion.
