RatArsed, awhile ago, I probably would have agreed with you. However, at this point I disagree. Here is my reasoning:
  • The ability to change one's main node can be too easily abused. The temptation is just to great for abuse.
  • While writing a node, you have the ability to read, and edit and preview to your heart's content... THEN you submit. Just take your time in the creation of a node... it's not a race.
  • The ability to 'nuke' your own node could also be abused... and again that temptation could be great. What happens when you have a node going 'downhill' and you want to reap it to avoid the 'ack...' What did you learn by that? What would others learn from that? The answer is that we wouldn't learn, and neither would you.
  • Sometimes having a negative rep on node makes one humble, and drives people to make a decision. Either they get over it, move on, and get better thus helping the community, or they get mad and leave. I made that choice a long time ago, that's why I'm still here. I think you have as well.
I know that I've made my share of mistakes here, and others will as well. It's normal to avoid being embarassed, but in this case I think that this could be helpful, and a growing experience. Even though I don't agree with you, don't think that this is a personal attack. Keep posting and participating.

    Point taken

Maybe I'm too honest to see that it could be abused :)
