Thanks Everyone—Great Site!

I meant to say something on my 2-month date, but missed it. Now as luck would have it I just noticed I had 499 posts.

So, for my 500th post, I wanted to say thanks to everyone here for making this a great place to better learn Perl. It blows away any of the newsgroups or other things I've tried to use in the past for the occasional question. It is, without a doubt, a community. Even though we don't have much off-topic discussion, people's personalities and background information does creep in a bit, and over time mental maps build up. I look forward to getting to know everyone as I continue to participate here.

    John,

It is so true that it is a community. I have been on the internet since before the web (late 80's), and this is still the best internet-based community I have ever experienced. Both the level of camaraderie and the truly outstanding level of technical information make Perlmonks the first place I want to checkout in the morning and the last place I want to check before I go home.

John, it has been great having you here, especially someone as prolific as yourself. Good monking.

    Scott
