Current Perl documentation can be found at perldoc.perl.org. Here is our local, out-dated (pre-5.6) version: Read the INSTALL file, which is part of the source distribution. It describes in detail how to cope with most idiosyncracies that the Configure script can't work around for any given system or architecture.
