Halloween Fun

For Halloween my on campus apartment had a pumpkin carving contest. Each aparment got a pumpkin about a week prior to the competition. We promptly smashed ours... inside of our apartment. Then when the day of the contest came we took a campus provided lamp, took off the shade, covered it with an orange street cone, and pasted black eyes and a mouth onto it. We then used the X10 lamp module and a Perl script to randomly dim and brighten the light and create a nice candle effect, all on a campus where candles are banned.
