Fellow monks,

I just tried to log on to AnnoCPAN, but apparently it has
its own user authentication system (actually: does it? or is it linked to CPAN or PerlMonks or perl.org? ), which reminded me again about the poor situation of needing so many different Perl-related user accounts.

Anyway, in the process, I accidentally (and for the first time in a while) logged in at auth.perl.org and saw that it is now using a system called BitCard, "an open single-sign-on web-authentication service, free for both users and web sites, that is used by most perl.org services".

I could not find much (any?) information on the BitCard web site, and a super-search here did not turn up much either, so I am posting my questions here: Is this going to be the prefered Single-Sign-On solution for the Perl community? Where is it currently used? Which sites have plans to adopt it in the near future?
