Well, I have to say I ++'d your original post for starting a discussion comparing the 2 languages, but I've --'d most of your responses to other posts for acting like an ass instead of fostering any kind of real debate. What did you expect? The people here know and love Perl and probably don't know Python. That really limits the discussion.

You're more than welcome to explain to me how this justifies their making "points" based on Python fallacies.

Take [mirod], for example, who learned after making his reply that Python has a
print
statement.

How would you feel if someone flamed your liking for Perl, and turned around and said something like "Oh, Perl has scalars?"

Have I been rude? Yes, in direct accordance with that which I stated in the OP. Points made from total ignorance and lack of experience with Python would be flamed.

They have been, they will continue to be. I was hoping to get responses from those who were reasonably well-versed in both languages, and have gotten directly the opposite.
