That's what <c> qr// </C> is for; see [doc://perlop]. The <c> Regexp </C> object returned by <c>qr//</C> is <i>almost</I> a string; it interpolates as a string in <c> m// s/// qr// </C> expressions or when [doc://print]-ed or string interpolated. It is not, however, the same as what is produced by the <c> qq// q// </C> operators.
