Did you carry on with Strawberry Perl and Padre [twostime]?
If so, how did it go?

I use Strawberry Perl and I'm looking for an IDE to replace TextPad that I currently use.
I am drawn towards Padre as it is written in Perl although I'm not exactly sure why that should make any difference to my decision - but hey, since when have decisions had to be logical?

The contenders are:

Padre

Kododo IDE (although this is probably better suited to Activestate Perl than Strawberry Perl

IntelliJ with a Perl Plugin

I know EMACS has been suggested as well but this seems like *NIX tool that has been ported for Windows rather then something developed either for Windows or as a cross-platform application.
