    You are naïve if you think these dæmons can be avoided by using English.

      But those are fancy words brought in by the continental oppressors. But there are other words from the original Saxon :)

    There still might be some people studying Old_English and therefore using non-ascii characters.

      Those people can be a real þ in the side.

    Even the venerable Oxford English Dictionary needs to use accented characters and non-Roman alphabet sets so just using English wouldn't really help.
