I think this is an excellent idea. While perldoc can be really
helpful, there's no substitute for a good book. A lot of perl
newbies probably aren't aware of the godsend called Oreilly
press. This might intersect somewhat with the reviews section,
but I think it would also be useful for links to online articles,
(there are a few good ones, like
coping with scoping).
I haven't seen any Quests posted since I joined perlmonks, maybe it's time for one. I don't think its entirely clear whether this overlaps too much with other nodes we already have, and i think its also unclear exactly what the format of such a node should be.
Anyway, just my .02
