Just thinking about soon becoming a level 6 monk (yay!), I just kind of thought of something.
Does PerlMonks currently have some type of announcement when someone advances to the next level?
I don't think there is (if there is, be sure to let me know), so maybe there could be a message that pops up in the chatterbox when anyone makes a new level.
Or maybe a section under Newest Nodes, called Promoted Monks or something of the sort.

I know how busy vroom is building up the new Voting/Experience System, so this could be put off for a few weeks or whatever.

Good idea? I like it!

jcwren's new monk stats page already does this. Look for the "level changes" listing; that lists how many there have been in the last day GMT. Click the display link, and it will show who changed levels, what time they did it, and what level they moved to.

Although I think that seeing which monks have advanced in level recently may be somewhat interesting, I think it would be more interesting to see which monks have gotten the most XP in the last few days. That is, which monks are the most active and are posting the best nodes in a given time period - the last week, for example.

This might be a good way to provide an incentive (e.g., a monk on this list for seven consecutive days gets a cookie - or more XP).

Heck, why not just be creative and roll your own. You could have a LOT of fun in the Chatterbox that way.
