The IDE is OK, it has a couple of issues that need to be worked out. If you like the Visual Studio IDE, then it will probably be worth your money to buy Visual Perl. I've found that I'm just too dependent on vim. Although I just found out you can use vim with Visual Studio. I'm going to have to give that a try.
