HA! vi is the only IDE anyone should ever need! You young whippersnappers of today don't appreciate what we went through in 1995, what with...oh never mind. Your post is a belated answer to my question about Perl Development Environments.

yeah! why in my day, there wasn't any of this fancy 'auto-auto indenting' I had to hit ESC and type`:set ai`to get my IDE to auto indent for me. And colored syntax? Yeah, we had that. Light green for the characters and and dark green for the background. And another thing...we didn't have those fancy Quake/Diablo games to play to unwind. We telneted to port 2800 of sneezy.cc.utexas.edu and MUD'd. We had to use our imagination! yeah! :)	[reply] [d/l]
