Hi all... Perl left my life the last year or so, but I've lurked from time to time and still love this place (one of the few online communities that defies oxymoron). As a mark of affection and bowing to some peremptory exhortations, I've re-indexed the Name Space node. Here's the index

One other thing... I used to have a perlmonks mug but it was my favourite, I used it all the time and in the end dropped it. Is anyone planning a reprint? I'd be a buyer. Other enthusiasts might indicate the size of the market by adding to this thread.

I wondered over to CafePress, and I found not only the PerlMonks Store, but also a store by our very own teabag which contains a mug. I doubt it's the mug you're after, but it's worth an ook. Or a look, if you're not an orangutan.

Perlmonks mug? Probably well before my time, but I'm very curious-what was its design?

(The place does grow on one, doesn't it? Good to see you are still around, btw.)

I'd like a mug! Assuming it's stylish and nice, befitting beautiful and intelligent people, such as we all are.

Good to see you still pop bye George. Hope things are well. :-) Also, occasionally I run a similar list and put it on my home node.

    Cheers

This page has no rocket science - it just indexes the first node added to the thread by a given monk. If you didn't put your etymology on your first sub node then may I encourage you to edit the sub node?
I'm one of those affected by this, uh, bug. :) My first node in that thread is a Re^3, but I did explain my moniker in my first directly reply to the node. I'm pretty certain that this applies to most everyone else who is currently misindexed - so I'd like to propose a very simple heuristic: if it were biased towards picking direct replies over deeper ones it would likely make not a single wrong choice about which nodes to index.

    Makeshifts last the longest.

A very sensible suggestion... but if left to me for implementation it may be year or two... if any kind reader feels like tweaking the code in this direction, please do - it's on my scratch pad, let me know when it's ready for use!
