And I am continually disappointed that P6 advocacy just can't help making things personal.

Last time I checked, we're all people of flesh and blood. People who make announcements. Whether they be in bad faith or not. If you think this is all not personal in some form or another, you have a pretty inhuman view of the Perl community.

In this particular case, I thought I was giving good advice to somebody who clearly is in agony. Nothing more, nothing less. Think of that what you will. People who know me a little better than just from online interactions, know that's a thing that I do.

I'm sorry you think of this as smearing you in public. Apparently I can do no good with you. I will therefore refrain from replying to anything you say in public from now on. Cause that is apparently what you want from me.

        That's not an apology.

What I want from you and every other P6 advocate is honesty. I want you all to stop misrepresenting history, to stop assuming bad faith from people who criticize P6, to stop speculating that P6 critics are motivated by mental or emotional problems.

I want you all to reach the point where you can evaluate criticism of the code, the documentation, the project, the project management, even the history of the project with an open mind, where people who have tried the project and found it wanting in some way are giving you honest opinions backed up by legitimate experiences.
